A customer story
We asked Dutch Home Care Organisation Meesterwerk about their expierence with Genus Care. Care professional Myrthe Postma tells her story:
"Genus Care proves to be a valuable addition within community-based care.
It enables us, as care professionals, to assess a client’s situation more quickly and accurately. It is also a practical solution when a client does not have access to a mobile phone. By using Genus, we are able to maintain consistent contact with the client and stay closely connected.
From my own experience, Genus is a highly effective tool because it allows us to detect early signs of crisis and respond in a timely manner. In addition, the door sensor contributes to reducing stress and anxiety for clients. One of our clients, for example, used to suffer from frequent nighttime panic attacks, which caused them to wander. This led to many unsafe situations. Since the installation of Genus and the door sensor, these incidents have not occurred again. The client also reports feeling calmer and more at ease, both during the day and at night, since Genus was introduced.
Client Marco explains: "Genus provides me with sense of security, especially when I need it most."
Furthermore, I use the medication reminder function to support clients in taking their medication on time. This is applied both to clients who normally manage their medication independently and to those who do so only in exceptional circumstances. I also make use of the smiley response option to gain a clear insight into how the client is feeling. I use this feature with questions such as: How did you sleep last night? How was your day today? And How did your day at daytime activities go?
