Humidity

Humidity is important

Sometimes, humidity or dampness (water vapor) in the air can supply enough moisture for mold growth. Indoor relative humidity (RH) should be kept below 60 percent -- ideally between 30 percent and 50 percent, if possible. Low humidity may also discourage pests (such as cockroaches) and dust mites. Molds have the potential to cause health problems. Molds produce allergens (substances that can cause allergic reactions), irritants, and in some cases, potentially toxic substances (mycotoxins). Inhaling or touching mold or mold spores may cause allergic reactions in sensitive individuals. Allergic responses include hay fever-type symptoms, such as sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, and skin rash (dermatitis).

Now the good news

Now the good news, Genus has 7 built in sensors which measure, amongst others, humidity and temperature! In the Genus App or on the Genus Portal humidity and tempreature data can be easily read from anywhere. Now healthcare workers and family but also housing associations can monitor the living environment remotely without disturbing the client. Our goal? Make it easy to connect, monitor and alert if necessary.
